Some stress over their wrinkles, while others worry about their weight. I won’t bore you with an endless list of beauty hang-ups [that’s potentially another post].
However I’m [nervously] prepared to let you into a little secret of mine…
My Reason for Sampling an Eye Cream:
Ever since I can remember, I have struggled with really severe bags underneath my eyes.Growing up, you never really take notice of these things. I certainly was too busy MCing during my Garage music stage and focussing on other things, to even worry about what the area underneath my eyes looked like!
It wasn’t until people kept saying ‘you look really tired, did you not get enough sleep last night…’ that I started to concentrate on my under-eye area more and more. I know this will sound ridiculous, but I was literally ‘born’ with bags underneath my eyes. I have an extensive archive of baby photos to prove this.
However living in Hampshire, you are exposed to open air and the dreaded hayfever symptoms started to kick-in.
Of course itchy eyes make puffy eyes! Not a winning beauty combination at all. So I tried everything I could, to try and combat the puffy eye! So far I have tried:
- Various eye creams
- Cucumber under eyes
- Tea bags under eyes
The common miss-conception is older people are the only ones who suffer from dark-circles and puffiness. WRONG! I’m in my twenties and I have this problem already [lord help me when I reach middle-age crisis]! I have considered looking at surgery as a last resort, but there is still something holding me back.
So while I continue to ponder over the idea of going under the scalpel, I thought now might be a good time to sample Oriflame’s Eye Power Accelerator from their Bio Clinic range.
Quick Fact File:
- Brand: Oriflame
- Range: Bioclinic
- Product: Cosmecutical Skin Care
- Treatment Type: Dark Eye Treatment
- Price: £20.95 – Exclusive Launch Offer: £14.95
What the Brand Says:
‘Concentrated eye treatment cream to target and fight under-eye dark circles. Centella improves microcirculation and helps prevent further dark circles. Micro-Bright™ technology fades discoloration, improves microcirculation and illuminates skin, leaving eyes younger-looking.’What the Doc Says:
What causes dark under-eye circles?‘If blood vessels around the eye weaken, blood pigments can spread and form dark circles. Bioclinic Circulation Accelerator fades this pigmentation and improves microcirculation. It was tested in a clinical trial and showed significant efficiency.’
- Dr Alain Mavon, PhD, Bioclinic Research Director
My Findings:
The idea of this product sounds great. It’s an easy to use cream that you can use during the day and at night. Unlike some premium brand cosmetic creams, Bioclinic is relatively affordable. For maximum effect, I applied this cream in the morning as well as at night, before I went to bed. I would recommend squeezing a small amount of cream, before massaging it between your two ring fingers. This helps to warm up the product before you apply it to your face. Your ring finger, is supposed to have less pressure than your index finger as well – definitely something to bear in mind when applying any products to your face with your fingers.
In the catalogue, the product information states that ‘there is significant reduction in dark circles in just 8 weeks’ according to the ‘visual representation of the possible result’ – demonstrated within the catalogue. I haven’t reached the eight-week period yet, however my skin does feel slightly firmer. I still have visible traces of puffiness, but perhaps this is just the look of my face.
You have a great review Miss Edna. More power to your career and good luck!
